Impedance AUDIOMETRY is an objective technique which evaluates middle ear function by three procedures: static Impedance , tympanometry, and the measurement of acoustic reflex threshold sensitivity. Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions (DPOAE) are result of an intermodulation distortion produced by outer hair cells in response to two pure tone stimuli that are nearby in frequency. DPOAEs are frequency specific indicator of outer hair cell functioning.
